St. Godehard's Church (1133-1172)

The basilica is one of the few Romanesque churches in Germany that remains virtually unchanged in its original form today.

St. Andrew's Church (1389)

Of all the well-known landmarks in Hildesheim, the steeple of the gothic parochial St. Andrew's Church is certainly the most obvious. 114,5 metres high - the highest steeple in Lower Saxony - it literally "towers" far above the roofs of the city. 364 steps take visitors to the viewing platform at a height of 75 metres.

St. Jacob's City Church

One of the striking features of the aisleless sandstone church are the extremely tall, narrow Gothic windows. St. Jacob's is also used today for concerts and exhibitions, among other things.

St. Magdalena's Church (1230/1294)

The church with its remarkable ivory altar (1520) and the Bernward shrine (1751) originally belonged to Hildesheim's first convent.

Holy Cross Church (after 1054)

The central aisle of the church is Romanesque, the southern side aisle Gothic and the northern aisle Baroque.

St. Lambert's Church (1474)

Be sure not to miss the Peter-and-Paul-altar (approximately 1420) and the Baroque organ in the late-Gothic hall church.

Christ's Church

The neo-Gothic church is equipped with a lot of beautiful mural paintings and ornaments. It has been sacred at February 7, 1904.

The completely preserved clouster of the former collegiate church is particularly interesting from an architectural point of view.

Marienrode Convent (1412-1462)

Today's Benedectine convent was first an Augustinian (1125) and then a Cistercian convent (1159).
